6 days to go...

The nerves, excitement and anticipation for the European Championships have definitely set in. I am so excited to compete for the first time in four months and to be surrounded by juggernauts of modern jiujitsu.

I have been taking my own advice (for once) and following all of the tips for overcoming competition nerves but I definitely still have anxiety that I am working hard to control. Writing and reading over positive affirmations to cement by self-belief is 100% my top tip to people who are nervous about competition. It helps you to truly believe the positive things that you are saying to yourself.

Your subconscious is so important and the things that you are saying to your self on a daily basis have a huge impact on your self-belief and self-confidence.

I have to remind myself that nerves are ok and they are completely natural, I am human after all. I can be nervous and still believe that I am capable of winning my division.

I have no-one's expectations to live up but my own and I am the only person that I have something to prove to.

I hope you have a wonderful day,

The (trying to be) Zen Grappler x
